MARCH 2021

IMG 18481

Karate South Africa hosted two National Championships; 6th +7th March, Durban 20th +21st  March, Secunda.

Eight provinces were represented to become the ultimate champion of champs.

This also served as a ranking system for future international championships.

In February this year after a one-year absence due to COVID-19, athletes had to qualify through JHB District. Those selected in JHB again had to qualify in the same month to represent Gauteng Province.

Finally, the top four athletes in Gauteng (consisting of the 5 Districts) took part in the nationals.

In summary between the two national championships 4Ways Martial Arts Academy once again did extremely well by clenching 24 Medals

In summary between the two National Championships result for 4Ways Dojo are as follows:-

There was a history in the making where for the first time in Karate South African all style Championship had a father and son competing in a team kata event plus winning a gold medal, which is very unique to the karate world.

Well done to Sensei StefSilvio, and Alessandro Biagioni for this amazing achievement at such a high level of competition.

Also, I would like to extend a very big thank you to Sensei Roberta for representing 4Ways Dojo who officiated so selflessly and tirelessly at the KSA Nationals. It was a hectic two days doing a sterling job. Last, but not least, a special thank you to Jacqui Baynes for all her hard work as team manager for Gauteng Karate Federation. Well done to Sven Langenhorst for qualifying his referee's course and Anke Langenhorst for table officiating as well.

Well done and may you all go from strength to strength in your preparation!

This means that all the above medal winners might have an opportunity to compete in the up and coming Internationals:-

(All under the auspices of SASCOC/KSA)
