AUSC Region 5 Championship

Namibia, Swatkopmund 22nd -25th May 2019




Karate South Africa had selections in March where the top 2 athletes in all divisions were chosen to take part in the International Zone 6 Championships.

Eight of 4Ways Dojo’s athletes were chosen for the AUSC Region 5, hosted in Swatkopmund, Namibia on the 22nd to 25th May 2019.

SASCOC recognised the Region 5 Championship as an official event of KSA and awarded the athletes  with official Protea colours.

Seven countries were represented at the Region 5, i.e.  Angola, South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Zambia and Namibia with over 300 entries.

Overall, South Africa won with the most amount of medals with 31Gold; 25 Silver and 21 Bronze. 

Botswana came second and third was Namibia.

A big congratulations to the 4Ways Dojo! 

All our Eight athletes did extremely well by clenching 8 Medals (3XGolds,  4XSilvers And 1XBronze).

Lastly a special note of congratulations to Nuru Minyuku-Gutto for getting her Protea Colours for the first time; and Sensei Stef leading from the front being at his 13th  Zone 6 Championship, medalling every time.
